Once upon a time, the word FREEDOM had meaning

By December 12, 2022No Comments

U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt defined FREEDOM on January 6th, 1941, as “Four Fundamental Freedoms” that people “everywhere in the world” ought to enjoy:

  1. Freedom of speech
  2. Freedom of worship
  3. Freedom from want
  4. Freedom from fear

Now Democrats are waking up.  Faced with a former president who wants to throw out the U.S. Constitution and conservative demands that everyone must get in line for their chosen “flavor” of a singular religion, for cuts in Medicare, Social Security, public schools, and more policies that benefit everyone, not just the conservative chosen few, Democrats are choosing to fight back.

The mistake this article makes is calling this fight a “steal.”  No — Republicans have shrunk the word “freedom” to the point it is meaningless, just like they are trying to throw out the Constitution.
